My friend brought me one local special product. It looks like an Artichoke, but actually it is a dragon fruit flower.
Picture shown here is a dragon fruit's flower (before it turns into the dragon fruit). (" Pitahaya " or "Dragon fruit" always refers to fruit of the genus Hylocereus. - Ref. Wikipedia) The flower bud is quite sweet. It is a good ingredient for salad, soups or stir fry.
In Taiwan summer time, Dragon fruit is right in the season, delicious and refreshing. But quite oppositely, flower bud is rare to see in the summer.
The color mix of the dragon fruit flower is beautiful, and its V-shaped symmetrical lines represent a good piece of art.
